About From Galaxies to Genesis and the Galactic Deacon

The Origin Story

From Galaxies to Genesis is a space where imagination meets truth, where the wonder of science fiction and the depth of Scripture come together to explore life’s biggest questions.

Stories have always shaped how we see the world. Whether through distant galaxies, futuristic civilizations, or familiar biblical accounts, there’s a thread that runs through them all, questions of purpose, identity, good and evil, and what it all means.

This site exists to explore those connections.

What began as curiosity slowly became something more intentional. As I looked back over notes from sermons I had heard over the years, I noticed something unexpected, I often connected those messages to scenes, themes, or ideas from science fiction.

It raised a simple but powerful question:

What if those same connections could reach others?

What if the language of science fiction, the stories people already love, could point toward the greatest story ever told?

The Mission

At its core From Galaxies to Genesis is building a bridge, a bridge between imagination and truth. Between the stories of a galaxy far away and the story of Scripture. It isn’t about fandom for fandom’s sake. It’s about worship.

Every galaxy, every story, every question about truth and reality is an invitation to look beyond the fiction and see the One who spoke the real universe into existence.

The goal is simple: to reach those who are drawn to science fiction and explore deeper meaning through something familiar, connecting those real Truths to the Gospel in a way that is thoughtful, engaging, and real.

Because sometimes, truth becomes clearer when we see it reflected in the stories we already understand.

Lead readers through a confrontation with truth, so they can rediscover their identity through a biblical lens, revealed and explored within a sci-fi world, so they choose it, not just receive it.

The Testimony of the Galactic Deacon

This journey didn’t begin as just an idea; it began as something personal.

There was a time when I didn’t fully understand the weight of sin. I thought of it in terms of obvious wrongdoings, things like stealing, murder, selfishness and dishonesty. Over time, I came to realize that sin is not measured by size. Whether we see it as big or small, it is still sin.

To many, I appeared to be a “good person," and often accused of close to perfect. I still felt like I was missing something. For a long time, I believed that being good, doing the right things and avoiding the wrong ones, might be enough. I went as far as attending church, doing "good" and listening to Christian music.

But that understanding began to change.

I remember sitting in church one day, listening to a message about Adam and the cost of sin. I wasn’t fully engaged at first, but one truth stood out clearly when the Pastor began to speak about Cain and Able:

God knows our sin, even when no one else does.

That realization stayed with me. The idea that nothing is hidden from Him, yet He still desires a relationship with me, that He calls me to acknowledge my sin not to condemn me, but to extend grace.

Even knowing the cost, God chose to make a way for me.

That moment marked a turning point in my life.

I came to understand more clearly that faith is not about striving for perfection, but about accepting grace. That Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, not through effort or appearance, but through Him alone.

My story is not one marked by outward extremes or dramatic moments. I have never been drunk, high or arrested, but the change within my heart is no less real.

It is a story of transformation.

And that transformation is His Glory.

If you're looking to the stars or turning the pages of the Bible, we’re all searching for the same thing:

Truth.

That is found in only one place, in Jesus.
